Biography

Reece Baucom is said to have been born in 1767 in Wake County, North Carolina, USA.[2] The state and country did not exist at that time, being instead called the Province of North Carolina from 1712-1776.[3] Wake County was formed in 1771 from portions of Cumberland, Johnston, and Orange Counties.[4]

Reece Baughcom was named as a son in the Aug 1797 Last Will and Testament of John Baughcom. The will was proved during the Wake County, North Carolina, June session 1800 and ordered to be recorded. It was "Recorded in the Clerks Office in Wake County in Book F, Page 92, the 2nd Day of July 1800. Nathanial Lane, C C"[5]

On 31 July 1797, Reece Bawcom served as Bondsman for the marriage bond of his brother Cader Bawcom and Susannah Fowler in Wake County, North Carolina, United States of America.[6]
