I really enjoy the Announcemnts and have tagged that category. I do not wish to follow Database Errors. How can I block them please?

Thank you!

Well there is only one (latest) message tagged with Annoucements. I remove the tag when new one arrives. Usually this message is not so active like this week. I can add a note in this message to put messages about errors in separate threads.

I will keep the announcement tag unles I am asked by the team not to use it.

If this really bothers you, you might ask Ales Trtnik not to use the announcements tag on the weekly "News on the Database Errors Project." That's the only db_errors items that's tagged for announcements.Since there are now 419 people following db_errors versus just 176 following announcements, the change probably wouldn't substantially diminish the visibility of the weekly db_errors reports -- but before he does that he might want to alert people that they have to follow the db_errors tag to see that weekly report.

By the same token, I suppose some of the rest of us might appreciate it if people refrained from using the announcements tag to tell the rest of WikiTree about a new free-space page or a new one-name study, since these typically won't interest more than a small fraction of WikiTreers.

I think those numbers are threads, not followers.

At the end of last year there were only about a dozen people following announcements.  It's up to 62 now.
Aand 150+ following db_errors.
