Hi Wikitreers,

We need collaboration in connecting the genealogy behind the post card

I have in my vintage antique post card collection one such card!

This is a 114+ year old card M. L. sent to Mrs. Robert Lunny?

Address appears to read: 65 Fairmont Street in Hartford Connecticut.

Postage Date: May 1909

RMS postmark with stamp intact.

1.) Who was Robert Lunny? Is his LNAB spelled Lunny?

2.) Is there a 1910 census of Robert Lunny and his wife living at this address?

3.) Bio of the card needs handwriting transcribed

4.) What was Mrs  Robert Lunny maiden name?

5.) Who was the sender M.L.?

Any collaboration I’d appreciate as always laugh

Thank you

Here is a strong possibility, living on Fairmont Street in 1910 Robert J. Lunny household. He has a son with same name Robert William Lunny, old enough to be the recipient

That must be him same #65 and it appears married2 wife Georgette M1 appears he worked as a collar maker at factory and his wife a stitcher at a garter factory? Son Robert W. They rented appears other families lived at #65 in 1910!

I think you solved it yes

Thank. You

Maybe can get them connected

Edit: note the birth year of 1867 these are some of the earliest births in my collection! Amazing

Found sons memorial https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/204081237/robert_w-lunny

However can’t find his father yet

The senders initials seem to be M.W.L. Maybe related the L being for Lunny

Yes, it does seem to be the right family. Here is another couple documents that look like a match  -

Naturalization https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:CZDH-XSZM

Military https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:ZJGH-QD3Z

I was looking at the initials, thinking the middle initial was an H?, doesn't look like a W to me. Maybe an N?  Yes and the last initial is an L that could be Lunny. It would be interesting to find an earlier census to see if this was a child of the family or somehow a relative. But could be just a random friend. That would be very hard to connect.
That middle initial, my two guesses are "A" or "H", leaning towards "A". Its not a wife of the son Robert W. he was single in the 1910 Census.

Just looking at that naturalization record that I sent you a link to, could be Robert J's father. but no way to tell for sure.
Naturalization date March 21, 1867.

Name Robert Lunney also a William Lunney

Great Britain and Ireland

I added the alternate LNAB spelling
Military record is informative

This could be the Mother in Law, Sarah A Bailey (possible maiden name Borman). She shows  up in the 1910 and the 1920 census with Robert and Georgetta. Find A Grave Entry Lot #6 and beside her in Lot #5 William E. Bailey https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/152373017/sarah-a-bailey https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/77557427/william-e-bailey

They married in 1879, same year as Georgetta was born. Here is the 1920 Census

Father in law would be William E. Bailey a U.S. Civil War veteran of 15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry!

Sarah was Williams 2nd wife it appears

Not totally sure on this as a search through census for 1890, 1900 was unsuccessful at finding Georgetta with a Mother by the name of Sarah. A William E. Bailey does turn up with a Georgetta as daughter....but with a wife by the name of Angie. Yet we know Sarah survived until past the 1920 Census. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M9QL-T26

But maybe Sarah uses her middle name. She is recorded as Sarah A. Bailey in the census with the Lunney's. Maybe A stands for Angie?
