Hi Wikitreers,

I have in my antique vintage post card collection a vintage post card dated December 13, 1906 that needs the genealogy behind the post card researched.

The name of the addressee appears to be a Miss Julia E. Worthington of Moodus, Conn.?

1.) Julia’s LNAB needs to be confirmed with a 1900/1910 census

2.) Did Miss Julia marry or have children in life?

3.) Post card in cursive writing needs transcribing please

4.) Who was the sender?

5.) Who was the friend from Maine?

6.) Who is “Ed” mentioned in the note?

7.) A Christmas dance in 1906 maybe?

8.) Seems there was a fire in town in 1906?

Likely Julia E. Worthington here in 1910 census and here at FindAGrave. 1900 census shows Ed as a brother?

Appears her husband served in the legislature? See his memorial Here

Thank you

Dear-

Will you or Ed please let me know when there is a dance in Moodus.  I have a friend from Maine who wants to go to a Moodus dance.  Please let me know if there is any between now and New Years.  Yours,  A.

Thank you Beulah smiley

I wonder if it’s 3 people mentioned? Will (William), You (Julia) p, Ed (brother Edward)?

I agree that is the Transcription.

I wonder who “A” was?

Andrew, I think Will is a questioning word, not a name.

There was apparently a fire early on January 28, 1906, in Moodus that did damage to the town center.  It was thought to have been started by thieves in Purple & Sillimin's store and was discovered about 3:00 a.m.

Thanks Roger

Those photos are amazing a really cool source of info! I was noticing also Julia’s husband William was very active as a politician and with the Congregational church plus operated the dairy farm! Old CT was really neat!

I wonder if Julia met William at the Moodus dance as she seems to have married soon after the lost card date!
