Afternoon Hector, I am pleased to say the answer is yes. Jayzen my distant cousin is updating the page, removing redundant links and making it more relevant to those of us with Mackenzie ancestry. He has been working for weeks on many of the main lines and together we have been merging duplicate profiles and trying to correct information or improve estimated dates to improve the timelines and spotlight glaring errors e.g. parents born after their children etc.

Awesome.  I've been sand-bagging on here, Geni and FamilySearch for a while now.  Its great to see some progress on here.  Kudos to both of you.  I wish I had the time to assist.  With something like 8,000+ names in Alexander Mackenzie book alone to sort through, that is a lot of work.

I have a Mckenzie line that I am sure has no known connection to any of the primary families.  No primary sources.  Not even a source hinting a connection to potential family back on to the Mother country.  On Geni at one point they were connected to a branch noted as the Maryland Mckinzies who are currently wrongly connected to the Redcastles.  On FamilySearch at one point someone had my family connected to a John Roderick Daniel Hector Mackenzie of Rabanne.  From trees on Ancestry I'm allegedly a descendant of a Sir Alexander Mackenzie 4th of Davochmaluag son of the 4th Seaforth.  I'm guessing it is a safe to say most of these are fakes.
Hector,

A little bit of this and a little of that.  Showing the WikiTree family we are indeed active.

We are happy to have you on board when are you free to assist.

Clan Mackenzie is open.

Your ancestry? Looks like you are on the right path.  Ignoring inaccurable and unreliable sources.  Finding trustworthy and reliable sources is a must.

Hello, I know this is not really a new post, but it sounds like you and your cousin have a wealth of knowledge about MacKenzie's and I could use some help!

I have been able to trace my paternal line of MacKenzie from my father as far back as 1775, where is get to MacKenzie-7655, and then it's been rough sailing. Pun intended, because John McKenzie was a Shipmaster who seems to have died in 1822 in Jamica. Was it at sea? I don't know. I have records of his marriage which took place in Canada. His children were all born in Scotland. His wife is from England. I have traces of him in Scotland, and it seems he was born there but i have yet to find many records other than his will, recorded in Glasgow Sheriff Court Inventories and also an inventory from who I believe is his brother who's will gives him a ship called The Lady McKenzie which I can't find record of anywhere,  I would love to go further with this line, and have leads to who his parents were but nothing definitive. Since my Grandfather the line has always had a John and an Archibald, which you would think would make things easy to find, on top of the tradition of the female daughters taking the maiden name of their fathers mother as a middle name, but it's not! I would REALLY love any help you might offer or any direction you might point me in!!! laugh

Progressing slowly.  Inbetween exhaustion brought on by a new bout of Covid and getting caught up in Black Friday Lego sells its getting there.

The Team page is starting to look like a Team page with the focus being working with the name Mackenzie and its variations.

If I am reading the Scottish Clan Team Guidelines correctly, moving Clan Background to a separate Free Space is the right move.
