Orphaned profile

Question

I was trying to find a couple of orphaned profiles I adopted during Source a Thon and the monthly source challenge.  I found the the orphaned profile help page and seen that there is a badge for adopting an orphaned profile.  I did not know this.  Where to go to get the badge.  I have adopted several orphaned profiles that are in my family line and a couple that are not.

If you are to receive the badge, it gets awarded to you.  You can't get it yourself.

If you adopted the profiles by checking the little box at left of the profile on the list pages that Melanie linked to above, the Big Heart badge should be awarded automatically (I think)  If you adopt a profile from the profile itself  don't think a badge is awarded. No ideas why, just the way it seems to work, recalling that years ago I had adopted profiles and not until I selected one off the main list, did the badge get awarded.

Actually, you have to check the boxes in order to adopt.  So how did you adopt from that page without checking the boxes?

By opening the profile to see its info, then clicking on the "adopt this profile"

Ah, I see.  Adopting via the profile, not adopting via the Special:Adoptions page.  Although Dawnmarie said the page is where she adopted from, not the profile.
