The Canada Project’s monthly connection challenge for August 2023 is open. We are highlighting 10 Canada Project Notables who need to be connected to the Global Family Tree.  Can you help by adding profiles of family members until a connection to the Global WikiTree is made?

The current tree sizes as of July 28th are shown for each profile.  Even if a connection is not made, adding even a single profile to a family is helpful and appreciated!

The notables needing assistance are:

Dwight Ball - Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, Tree size start - 0; Connected 8/1/23

Michael Cashin - Prime Minister of the Dominion of Newfoundland, Tree size start -14; Connected 8/1/23

Christina Clark - Premier of British Columbia, Tree size start - 14; Connected 7/31/23

in the process of connecting another notable via another challenge, i created a Canadian born notable who happened to be born in August

needs sticker and categories.

I've added the Notables sticker. Anyone with a Wikipedia page is eligible for this.

I think the Canada Notable Project should be manager of this profile.

went to Ottawa to talk about the terms of British Columbia joining Canada

introduced a bill to make July 1 a public holiday to be called Dominion Day (now called Canada Day)

Canada Project will take a look at adding him.

I just initiated a merge with Carrall-24

I think it should go into Carroll (all other family has that name and his early records have that spelling) with Carrall as last name now.

is this considered a notable if he has a wikialpha page versus wikipedia page (born August)?

No, WikiAlpha lacks the Wikipedia standards of notability which Wikitree incorporates as its standard for notables.

"WikiAlpha is an open encyclopedia, journal, and news source. Unlike Wikipedia, WikiAlpha has no notability requirements and accepts articles on all topics which are legal including news, humor, internet phenomena, websites, blogs, and projects."
