Can you verify this is the same person?

Question

I am sure that Charles Lohmann and Minna Deger were the parents of the two sons on this profile.  Minna Deger seems to equal Wilhelmina Taeger.  I haven't been able to link THIS Carl Lohmann to that Charles Lohmann.  So many names are similar.  I don't find a marriage record for them in familysearch.  There is the baptism info that's on the profile, but I can't match that Carl Lohmann to the father of the two children.  Can anyone with more Germany experience and sources help?

Hey Cindy, who are you actually referring to by THIS and that. Is it possible you forgot the links ?

I had a first look at Carl Lohmann and might be able to locate him. But I am not sure if he is the right one. How sure are you actually that he is the father of Johann Georg Heinrich ?? And where does this sons date of birth come from? Can you please check and give some more inside?

HI, Danny, it is this Carl Lohmann of the link that I provided that I am not sure of.

There is a Charles Lohmann who is indicated at the father of both the children Albert Lohmann and Johannes Georg Heinrich Lohmann.  But I am not sure that the Carl Lohmann of the linked profile is really the right father.  I've found nothing that links him to the father named Charles for the sons.  The birthdate and parents I found for Albert on Familysearch and that link is in Albert's profile.  My sister did Johann's profile.  Source #3 gives his parents and estimated birth year.  She has an exact birthdate but no specific source for that.  I don't have an Ancestry subscription so I can't look at any of the details on those sources.

Thank you for validating my question, as I am deinitely NOT sure this Carl is the father of the two sons, but I do believe both of the sons have the same father if we can find him.

So I would suggest to take a step back and concentrate on the two sons first. It looks like both of them are immigrants to US. What is the connection between the two? I will have a closer look tomorrow (my time) but it might help if you can give some insites since you seem better informed.

Also if, you don't mind,  I might do some updates on the profiles if I find some more clues. It will help me to get a better feeling of the persons.

Updates and additions would be very welcome.  Why I think those two are brothers is that they were born within reasonable years of each other, both had the same parents Charles Lohmann and Mina Deger, both from same place in Germany, Braunzweig.  This information is already on each of their profiles in the marriage sources.

Ok, so I reviewed the older Brother Albert Lohmann and made some changes. He had the wrong immigration record attached. It was to early and him coming from Holzminden made no sence. Now I think it is the right one, giving him the year of immigration 1870, which fits the census and has him as a joiner from Braunschweig. 

You are completely right about the brother connection, I also found his obituary which clearly states that he moved to his brothers family and died there. This is actually good, since we now have two connections to the family in Germany. Maybe even three assuming George was traveling with another brother Emil as given on his passenger list.

This all should be enougth to prove that the attached parents actually are the right ones even if the spelling changed completely in America. I will work on their profiles later today.

Thank you.  Very nice additions to Alberts profile.  Also those obituaries are great!  I searched quite a while for those.  I don't have a subscription to Ancestry, which might be worthwhile if you can find things like that there.  Most of my work is in Canada so I am not very familiar with German or US records.  I hope you can connect or confirm the father  (and mother) for these sons!
