Christian Krueger (paternal line) -Brandenburg, Prussia, father of August Friedrich Wilhelm Krueger. Born in Damme, Prenzlau, Pomerania/Brandenburg, Prussia on 23 Jan 1855. Immigrated with wife Fredericka Louise Wernicke/Werneke/Wernike born 31 Dec 1860 in Torno, Kamenz, Prussia and first born Anna Louise Tegmeier (née Krueger) born 15 Nov 1880 in Germany, Prussia. They immigrated in 1882, according to all 3 US obituaries, to Morristown, Rice, MN where August rented land until about 1907 when they left for the towns of Berthold and Minot in Ward County, ND. The farm in Minot is still standing. According to my father's 23andMe Y-DNA result, he's haplogroup R-Z12. August's mother's name is Carolina/Katherine Herbst/Harbst. Fredericka's sister Marie/Mary Wilhelmine Werneke/etc married August's brother Karl/Carl Friedrich Krueger in Prenzlau, Brandenburg, Prussia on 02 Oct 1882. According to Fredericka's North Dakota Death certificate, her parents were Frederick Werneke and Charlotte Lohn. However I can't find any woman by that name. On Marie's marriage record to Carl, her mother is listed as Johanna Koske. The sibling relation between Fredericka and Marie has been confirmed with 3 DNA matches. Marriage records for Frederick Werneke could answer the question or if he was married twice.Christian Krueger (paternal line) -Brandenburg, Prussia, father of August Friedrich Wilhelm Krueger. Could you veryfy the US information I put into the profile to get a better picture of the text you write. If the items is your family, you can move the blocks from Research notes to the biografie.

"Brandenburg" is a rather wide definition.

Damme is today part of Grünow. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gr%C3%BCnow_(bei_Prenzlau)

So todays place is:

Damme, Grünow, Uckermark, Brandenburg, Bundesrepublik Deutschland

In 1855 it was

Damme, Landkreis Prenzlau, Brandenburg, Preußen, Deutscher Bund

Damme, Grünow, Churchbook, no entry for that birth date.

Question if this is the correct place, since there are anothe 3 places "Damme" in Germany and an additional one in Belgium.
Yes. Those are the same sources and family ove been staring at for 2 years. August's son Walter is my paternal grandfather's biological father. August's daughter Anna is the mother of my paternal grandfather's mother, Helen. 3 cousins who knew Walter and Helen have shared the same story about the circumstances that led to the uncle-niece relationship. Grandpa was adopted by August's daughter Freda and her husband Clarence Augustus Gilbert, which is how I became a Gilbert. The marriage record for August and Fredericka AND Carl and Marie mentions the Damme that is now in Uckermark from understanding with the maps I've collected
Is it possible that you link somewhere the marriage you write about ? Thanks.
Here is the link to the marriage record for Carl and Marie. I can't remember which site I have the marriage record for August and Fredericka on.

Check out this record I found on the Ancestry mobile app

I am not convinced that this is the correct marriage, i put a full transcript and my doubts in the profile.
That marriage record that I have linked is to the BROTHER of August (Carl) marrying Fredericka's SISTER (Marie). These are the only leads I have at my current disposal that mention the names of all of their parents, hopefully, no half sibling relations. I am doing my best to be as clear as possible with this but Carl and Marie came over to Minnesota AFTER they were married and joined August and Fredericka in Morristown, MN. According to Fredericka's and August's, obituaries, they were married in 1880, then had Anna, then traveled to Minnesota via New York in 1881/2. I'm trying my best to not have to repeat myself in comments as it's getting overwhelming for me to articulate my thoughts.
if all the existing information, would have been put int the respective profiles in a structured ordered and all existing assumptions in the research notes ... we would not discuss unstructured here...  no the above was not clear from your writing

so we are searching first a marriage in that region prior 1881 and a child Anna may be. for the older couple
I'm just writing it as it makes sense to me. I have adhd ans autism so my thoughts are always out of order and I try to make them as clear as possible for others to understand.

Yes, I'm searching for the marriage record from 1880 for August and Fredericka and hopefully birth records for both of them as well.
Is there anything that proves that the people in this marriage record are actually related to the people in your profiles?

Hi!  I think I might have something for you.  First I checked the 1900 census for Morristown, MN and found them. The 1900 census lists the reported year of immigration and it agrees with your family history (1882).  But interestingly, he has his name as August Krueger instead of Christian.  Many people used modified names once they hit the US.  So I searched for August Krueger in the immigration records and found that August (b1855), Frederick(a) (b 1861) and Anna (b 1881) arrived onboard the Ohio which arrived in New York on 20 Oct 1881.  It was probably 1882 when they arrived in Minnesota.  Anyway, I have a screenshot and a link.

Yes. August is the person who immigrated. More than likely his father stayed behind and died in Germany because August's mother died in Minnesota. So she probably immigrated with them or came before or after the family to Minnesota. Christian is the name I have for his father who I am trying to confirm.

The link won't load when I click it to open. Or when I copy/paste it into my browser. Granted I'm on my phone and not on my computer.
If this is the couple, than the arrival would conflict the assumed marriage in Germany. Nevertheless it looks more likely than the Prenzlau Marriage with with wrong first names for both
if the marriage record is the brothers record. than the father is already dead in 1882, since it is written in the marriage record that he passed away.
Do you have any sources about the death of the mother in Minnesota?
