Can I search a category for unconnected?

I would like to connect any unconnected profiles in my local cemetery. Is there a way to search them? Using Wiki Tree + I searched 'Bluff Cemetery unconnected' and got results from everywhere so I added new zealand and got none at all. Tried again by adding Southland since the cemetery category doesn't have new zealand in it but does have southland - no results.

Is there a trick to it? I presume it is possible since my first search worked.

Maybe add Wikitree_plus to the tags for this post. This may get the attention of members with experience in this area.

I don't have the answer to your question, but I can tell you that there are only 2 unconnected people on that list (the two named Norris).

Edit: If you install WikiTree BEE, you'll find a 'Table' button on category pages. Clicking that will put everyone on the page into a big sortable table.  I've just added code to highlight the unconnected people in the table.

I tried but obvsly got it wrong.  Will try again, cheers
I have the firefox extension but tbh I don't understand or remember half the features.  I'll give it a go. BTW, what I do use and understand of your work I love - thank you so much for your work.

WikiTree BEE puts a 'Table' button (on the right) on category pages like this one:

Click that for a table of all the people on the page, like this:

Scroll down, and you can see that the Norrises are highlighted a little (with a green border) to show that they're unconnected.

I hope that helps.

Nope, I haven't got that. I like the look of that table though.  I have a Firefox extension....is that BEE?
Have added the extension to Chrome and it is very different to my firefox one but I really dislike chrome and all my bookmarks etc are in firefox so it will be a pain but I don't get the same features in Firefox :-(

There is a Firefox version of the BEE.  It's almost the same as the Chrome version (apart from a difference in the sourcing part of it).  The BEE is not the WikiTree Browser Extension, which is a product of the WT Apps Project.  Sorry if it's all a bit confusing.

Ian

Quite excited by this as I've been longing for a tool to show connected/unconnected within a category. I've just installed your Bee extension into Chrome. It works fine except that I don't get the green border on the tables where it definitely should be.

Have I missed a switch somewhere to turn that feature on?
@Ian Beacall - I feel very silly. I use Google Chrome. I think I have Wikitree bee and also the Wikitree Browser Extension installed but I am not seeing the Table button to click on when I view a category. I have seen this option in the past and found it useful. Has something changed?
Hi Anne.  Sorry.  I've just removed that from BEE as I'm adding a slightly improved version of it to WBE.  It will be on WBE Preview soon.  I had to remove it from BEE so that there would be no conflict.
many thanks for the explanation - I thought the table view was very helpful
Hi - I was just wondering if WBE had been updated yet for this and if I needed to toggle something on to see the table view in categories?

Thanks

Anne

Hi Kylie. This link

https://plus.wikitree.com/default.htm?report=srch1&Query=CategoryFull%3DBluff_Cemetery%2C_Bluff%2C_Southland+connected&MaxProfiles=500

shows 122 connected profiles. If you remove "+connected" there are still 122. So all the profiles in the cemetery category are connected. That explains why if you replace "+connected" with "+unconnected" you get zero results.

Edited to add: In The light of Ian's comment about the Norrises above, I should point out that at the time I ran the above calculation, the WikiTree Plus data was almost a week out of date.

Okay, so it does work but none are unconnected.  Awesome, cheers
Great, Kylie! Thank you for the star :-)

There are only 137 profiles in the category, so it shouldn't be that hard to click on them to see who's unconnected.

For now, yes, but this won't be the only one I plan on doing. That was an example.
