Hello all, I'm working on a space page for Marion County, Arkansas. I found [[Caulder-49|Peter Caulder]] an African American free black pioneer from North Carolina by way of Tennessee who settled in 1819 along the White River in Marion County. He served in the War of 1812, and after the war was sent to Arkansas Territory. He served in the U.S. Army on the frontier for over ten years, often on detached duty, as he scouted the terrain, hunted for the fort, and pursued deserters.

A lot of detail was written about him in the Encylopedia of Arkansas https://encyclopediaofarkansas.net/entries/Peter-Caulder-1615/. He lacks a good biography. I thought this might be something you would like to research. I have a little more on my plate than I can handle right now, but if no one picks it up, I will later.  Just thought he is such a pioneer that someone would be eager to jump on this profile.
