Joseph was born in 1871. He was the son of Joseph Amos Simpier and Matilda Almedia Ronger. He passed away in 1901. Joseph A. Simpier was born April 12, 1871 in Manistee, Manistee, Michigan, USA. In 1900 he was living in Seattle Ward 6, King, Washington at the age of 29 & working at Westside Mill as a sawyer (Night) & could read, write & speak English. Joseph Amos Simpier married Maria C. Walters May 26, 1900 in Pierce, Washington. Joseph died July 13, 1901 in Olympia, Thurston, Washington after a tragic accident at Westside Mill at the age of 30.

I believe I found the Dr. Redpath mentioned in his article a Nathaniel James Redpath. He was born in Kelso, Cowlitz County, Washington. I’m curious if it’s him but also if he has a Wikitree yet?

Note: Any collaboration is welcome in his genealogy. It appears he had no children?

Thank you

That Nathaniel James Redpath has a profile - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Redpath-247 - but it has no profile manager and limited sources.

Here is his obituary:

He has a pm now laugh

Figured he might.

From the obituary, it looks like Nathaniel had two children, Catherine and Nathaniel, Jr.
This man tried to help and give him medical aid. It was an awful tragic accident that happened right after Joseph married. He was just trying to work hard to make a living for himself and newlywed. This doctor I believed was him who attempted to help. Thank you

Nathaniel was a former physician at the insane asylum at Steilacoom.

The historic home is very neat! Built right after the tragic accident of Joseph in 1907
