Shared Photo: James Clephus Simpier (1956 - 2023) “Fathers Day 1959”

Hi Wikitreers,

I wanted to share a photo of my Uncle James Simpier who recently passed away. This is one of a handful of photos that he had with him in the end. 

Back of photo

I believe the photo is about 1959/1960 in Everett, Washington. My grandfather and pilot John C. Simpier and family. The blonde haired boy at end is my Uncle James 

Note: very few color photos I’ve seen in my family album of the family during this time it’s a rarity

Thank you for sharing this great family photo James!   Color photos from so long ago aren't really common. Even more uncommon are the ones with airplanes, and family members.

Thank you. I also found this one he had with him as well but it’s a separate photo and no writing on back. It’s the same image same time but maybe was taken closer to family. Not sure what camera or type of film used to take it and not sure who actually snapped the photo.

Maybe they were stored differently over time. Could the minor differences may be from two photographers standing next to one another?

That’s very possible or maybe they order two prints? It is intriguing

Might it be a scanned image from the original that was cropped bigger with contrast and brightness adjustments ?  It  technically appears to be a copy. I think .. Thank you for the share.

P.S. Congratulations to the oldest Lad who must be holding the youngster arm and arm by the seat of his trousers .. lol
