Biography

Aunt Dotty was said to be a rather difficult character. The family had a holiday cottage at Pennington, Natal where the Mike Gallweys stayed twice in the 1940s. She was widowed and she re-married but she died soon afterwards from cancer. By her first husband she had these issue:

1. Monica Sheena Rix-Child (b. 4th Oct 1906 Ladysmith), was a great friend of her cousin Sybil Hooper [Gallwey-10], m. Geoffrey Goble and had:

i Ann Goble who married Peter Grace

ii David Goble

iii James Goble

2. Dennis Rix Rix-Child, b. 1907 Pietermaritzburg, m. Evelyn __ and they had:

i A girl who married a sugar farmer

ii A boy, boss of a UK car Company

3. Maurice Rix-Child, b. 1909 Ixopo, m. Jean ___, had no issue

4. Norman Fosberry Rix-Child (b. 5th July 1919, Pietermaritzburg) m. Joan ___ who had

i John Child, worked in the bank

ii Mark Child, who had thyroid trouble

iii a boy (worked at Toyota at Prospecton in 1972?)
