Hi Stephen Richmond! You're the first South African Richmond I've ever heard of. I'm Richmond-4119. I descend from John Richmond, from Taunton MA around 1650. He has two male lines with living men named Richmond, and the two lines (including me) have the same Y chromosome, I-M253, also I-L22 I think. It would be interesting to know if you have the same Y chromosome haplogroup, which probably originates in Scandinavia, consistent with the name, which is obviously Norman French. - Bob Richmond, 82 year old retired pathologist in east Tennessee.

Hi Bob, I have received my DNA results. I am a bit confused by it all. Happy for you to have a look at them to see if you get the answers to your query.

Hi Stephen! I'm confused by my DNA results, too. What we're interested in is your Y chromosome haplogroup. (Mine is I-M253.)
