Biography

Born: Based upon John's stated age of 74 in the 1850 U.S. Census and 84 in the 1860 U.S. Census, he was born in 1776 in Virginia.^{[1][2][3][4][5][6]}. He was the son of Philip Romans and Isabella Unknown.

Married: On August 6, 1807, John Romans married Susanna Helog in Washington County, Virginia. ^[7][8][5]

Death and Probate: On July 2, 1862, John Romans executed his Last Will and Testament in Warren County, Kentucky bequeathing the following: First, to his Wife Susanah Romans, a life estate in all of his land and property, Second, the remainder estate to be divided equally between his children, William G,, Jacob, James, Philip C. Isaac M., Cornelius L. Liander S., John C., Louise H., and Susan A.A. Romans by division of land or by sale and division of the proceeds. C.L. Romans in nominated as Executor.^[9] John passed away after July 2, 1862. While John’s wife appears on the 1870 US Census, he does not.
