Robert was born on 23 February 1879^[1] at Ōamaru, Otago, New Zealand, and his birth was registered in the second quarter of 1879 at Ōamaru^[2]. He was the son of Eyre Frederick FitzGeorge Evans and Charlotte Lees.

Robert Evans died young.

Robert died on 20 April 1879 aged eight weeks^[3] at Ōamaru. He was buried in Ōamaru Old Cemetery, Ōamaru^[4].
