Intro
The profiles listed here under this Personal Category are believed to contain some clue as to my Amelia MILLAR brickwall.
What we know
A privately published family history shows her birth date as 11 Feb 1817 (scanned copy available on FamilySearch)
Census data shows Amelia as being born in Kippen, Stirlingshire, implying 1815-1817ish.
But who were her parents?
Her death cert. says father was a James MILLAR, no occupation, no mother's name shown.
Family information from a granddaughter said that her mother was a Miss Chrystal - assumed to be a surname.
You now know as much as I do.
Feel free to extend the pedigrees of any people listed below, the more connections the more chance of finding the links, documentation, DNA hints.....

The DNA
The clues in general come from DNA matches that look promising, and as such, we would love to hear from any descendant or relative of those listed below who have DNA tested to see if any further clues may be gleaned as to where the connection is. Some families shown may turn out to be clues on James Henderson's father's ancestry rather than Amelia's parents but either way, we'll learn something by sharing information, and DNA clues.
mtDNA
A tested direct maternal line descendant of Amelia is haplogroup T2e, so her mother should be likewise.
If great aunt Millie (Amelia Harbour, nee Henderson) was correct that Amelia's mother was a Miss Chrystal we would be particularly interested in hearing about any T2e tested descendants of any female Chrystal from around the Kippen area.
atDNA
The profiles below have mainly been researched because of DNA matches. Some might yet be Henderson rather than Millar side matches - definitely work in progress.
Ancestry in general has shown our matches of interest as smaller than the same matches when compared on other sites, so it does pay to check what other companies say about a match. (This indicates that Ancestry's timber algorithm is downweighting the genealogical significance of a considerable portion of our matches from the Stirlingshire/Perthshire farming families that are of interest.)
Adding yet more science to the problem
I have hopes that trying to reconstruct as much of the DNA profile for Amelia that we can from all the tested descendants we can muster might help. So I've just started another private project on BorlandGenetics to see how far we might get with that.
This resulting DNA profile will contain the DNA of both James Henderson and Amelia Millar, but in theory this reconstructed profile should be available for eg targetted clustering of match lists on eg Genetic Affairs and DNAGEDCOM.
For this to work best we need as many tested descendants as possible to upload their DNA file to BorlandGenetics. If you have done so, please let me know and I'll send an invite for you to join the private Henderson-Millar DNA project there.
How to compare across companies
Most of our kits are on GEDmatch, MyHeritage and FamilyTreeDNA, with only a few at Ancestry and even fewer on 23andme. Some also now on Geneanet.
For comparisons across companies, especially if you only tested at Ancestry which does not provide the same level of detail for checking where the DNA shared actually comes from on your respective ancestries, please consider uploading your testing company DNA file to the sites accepting uploads (MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA, GEDmatch, and BorlandGenetics).
