Research notes
Sarah's birth data / place:
Census data varies wildly as to date, but mostly says Kippen, Stirlingshire
Remember that Sarah married in 1842, so unlikely to be born later than about 1824 (ie 18), and more likely slightly earlier.
Census:
1841
1851 29 b. Larbert (STI) ie abt 1822
1861 34 b. Kippen (STI) ie abt 1827
1871 43 b. Kippen (STI) ie abt 1828
1881 50 b. Kippen ie abt 1831
1891 60 b. Kippen ie abt 1831
1901 81 b. Kippen ie abt 1820
Dth cert.
1913 79 ie abt 1834 - would be 9 when married
Naming pattern of children indicates parents might be John and Ann MILLAR/MILLER)
where these MIGHT be John Millar and Ann (McGeoch) Millar, where Rosanna is also known as Ann, whose children were baptized at Kippen from 1820-1826, john a Wright, including a Sarah, twin of David.
With a series of varying strength DNA matches being found between descendants of Gabriel and Sarah and several descendants of James Henderson and Amelia (Millar) Henderson, I am hoping that this family may well be a chip out of my Amelia Millar brickwall.
Love to hear from you if you are interested in exploring these theories further. Henderson-2297 12:04, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
