On 2 March 1904 at Balmain, he married Annie Bolton Love.[2]

Reginald and Annie had children.
He passed away on 28 October 1929[4] and was interred in St Jude's Anglican Cemetery, Randwick.[5]
MR. REGINALD C. BROOMFIELD, K.C.
Mr. Reginald Cobden Broomfield, K.C, formerly one of the best-known barristers In New South Wales, died at his home at Bettingham, Rooty Hill, last Friday, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Broomfield, who was the third son of the late Captain John Broomfield, was born at Glentworth, Balmain, in 1864. Educated at Sydney Grammar School and at Trinity College, Oxford University, he excelled at athletics and boxing in his youth, and was captain of Sydney Grammar School In 1881 and 1882.
He entered Trinity College, Oxford, in 1887, and graduated in law with honours, and was admitted to the New South Wales Bar on March 7, 1890.
His practice, which was extensive until he retired in 1924, was principally on the common law side, and he was prominent in Admiralty Jurisdiction, and frequently was briefed to appear before the marine court of inquiry.
He was formerly a member of the Union Club. Mr. Broomfield married Miss Ann Love, daughter of the late Mr. Love, of Castlemaine, Victoria, and is survived by Mrs. Broomfield, one son, Mr. John Broomfield, and one daughter, Miss Fredrica Broomfield, both of Rooty Hill.
The funeral took place privately at St. Jude's churchyard, Randwick, on Saturday. The mourners included Mrs. Broomfield (widow), Mr. John Broomfield (son), Judge Thomson, Mr. H. V. Jacques, M.L.A., Mr. A. B. Shand, K.C, Mr. H. E. Manning, K.C, Mr. E. A. Barton, Mr. Norman McGhie, and Mr. Mack, K.C.[6]
