Biography

U.S. Southern Colonies Project logo
Amos Veatch Sr was a Maryland colonist.

According to American Revolution Membership Application records Amos Veach was born about 1768 in South Carolina and moved to Kentucky around 1800 where he settled on Mulberry Creek.

~Note~ I have also found records that state he might have been born in Frederick, Hanover, MD. (original profile writer)

His parents were James Veatch & Eleanor Raymor/Raymer unsure of the correct spelling for his mother.

Amos married Sarah Sears on November 27, 1795 in Greene County, Tennessee before Tennessee was a state.[1] She was born 1777 in Virginia the daughter of John Lewis Sears and Judith Wheeler.

These records also state that Amos Veach is buried in the Veach Family Cemetery on the land where he settled, it is clearly noted that this same land was occupied by McLelland Veach the great-grandson of Amos Veach and Sarah Sears so since it is in fact documented that George McClelland Veach is buried here in this Veach cemetery this proves that Amos is in fact buried here somewhere in this very same cemetery as well & since Sarah & Amos were never divorced I am assuming that she is buried here as well. - Denise51977

Any agreement on "Veatch" or "Veach?" I'm leaving his spouse's current last name as Veach.
