Biography

Jack was born 13 November 1920 in Calgary, Alberta, son of Alfred and Mary Elizabeth Martin. ^{[1] [2]}

At the time of the 1921 Census, his family was living at 207 - 5th Avenue NE in Calgary. ^[1]

In 1926, their address was 315 - 17th Avenue, N.W. Calgary. ^[3]

Five years later, Jack (10) and his parents lived in a 5-room house at 462 - 12th Street NW, Calgary. ^[4]

By about 1940, they had moved to the Vancouver, British Columbia area. ^[5]

In 1945, they resided at 1840 Cypress Street, Vancouver. Jack worked as a Clerk. ^[6]

Eight years later, their address was 106 Hythe Avenue South, North Burnaby, British Columbia. Jack was Assistant Clerk, C.P.R. (Canadian Pacific Railway). ^[7]

After his father died in 1954, ^[5] Jack and his mother continued to live at 106 Hythe Avenue South. ^{[8] [9]}

Jack's mother died 8 May 1962. ^[10] He continued to live alone in the family home. ^[11]

By 1965, Jack had married Gloria Banner and moved to 206 - 5190 Hastings Street East, Burnaby. Gloria's mother Isabel Grisenthwaite lived with the couple. Jack was now an Accountant. ^[12]

Jack, Gloria, and Isabel resided at 36 Springer Avenue South, Burnaby in 1968 ^[13] and at 4861 Sardis Street, Burnaby in 1972. ^[14]

Jack died 26 June 1997 in Burnaby at the age of 76. He and Gloria were living at 149 - 145 King Edward Street, Coquitlam, British Columbia at the time. ^[2]
