Biography
Richard was baptised on 21 April 1787 at St James, Slaithwaite, Yorkshire, "Richard of James Wood, Thorps, Slaithwaite".[1][2]
He married Charlotte Shaw on 25 February 1811 at Almondbury, Yorkshire. Richard Wood of the parish of Huddersfield and Charlotte Shaw of this parish. He signed, she marked. Witnesses John Heaton and John Turner.[3] They had children Martha, Isack, Hannah, Judia, Rebecca, and Mary Ann, all registered at Pole Moor Chapel. The first four were "of Bank Nook" and the last two "of Hollins Row, Linthwaite".
Richard died in 1866 aged 79.[4] He was buried on 3 June 1866 at Pole Moor Chapel, and Charlotte was buried there a week later on 10 June.[5]
