Biography

Charles, son of Charles John Tompson & Diana Elizabeth, was born on 15 September 1880 and baptised on 23 December 1880 in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia.[1]

CATS ENDED MAN'S LIFE Annoyed by cats, which persistently removed the lid from the garbage tin at night, Charles Selwyn Tompson, 49, who lived In Margaret-street, Manly, told his 13-year-old daughter, Margaret Elizabeth, that he "must get out the rifle and shoot some of them." On the morning of July 19 she found him lying In a workshop at the rear of the house. , On a bench was a pea rifle. He died the same day. A ver-dict of accidental death was returned today.[2]
