I never asked that question again. To be fair he personally knew Jimmy Catanach who was murdered by the Gestapo. He wouldn't see the humour of being buried at Jacobs Well among what looks like a late 19th, early 20th Century German cemetery.

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in with project members. Please review the following and respond to let us know that you are content with your current team or if you would like to be more involved.

The Project operates in a team structure. There are currently three participant PIP Teams -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

There are currently three different Biography Teams - The Biography Team, the Abandoned Team, and the Popular Team.

You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team. The Biography Team works on profiles from their watchlist and other profiles that interest them.

Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (You will need your Wiki ID for both). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

Hi Kaitlyn,

The Connect-a-Thon was fun, we hope you enjoyed yourself and are recovering. Thank you for helping, it is appreciated.

Our teams did really well. Our big Mighty Oaks Team came first overall, and our Little Mighty Oak Branches Team was in the top 5 on the Normalised Score. The combined score of our two teams was 11109. A total of was 95,575 new profiles added by all during the thon.

Your update on Bradford Sargent Tilney came as a surprise in more ways than one, mainly I guess as I had never heard of him, probably because I do not go beyond 1951 generally.

Why he was born in England is beyond me, but his GRO index does show a birth registration Barnstable, Devon Q3 1908.

I have traced his ancestors back to the 1600's, right up to around 1920's, but I know some of his neices and nephews. Ralk Bracket jnr is alive and well, as is his neice Jean Cambell nee Tilney. The journey of the Tilneys starts in around 1062, the name adopted (probably) from a Norfolk Village of Tilney. His middle name Fingland is handed down from 1845 when Joseph jnr Tilney maried Jeanette Jeanie Fingland in Paris Ontario, Canada. Both their parents had emigrated from England. His father Joseph Tilney was born Norwich, Norfolk 1784, emigrated 1831 with his wife and 5 children. They decend from early Quakers of Norfolk/Norwich where it is most likely they connect to Sir Hugh Tilneys family. Sir Hugh is brother to Sir Frederick Great Grandfather of Ann Boleyn. Joseph Jnr and Jeanette started the Ohio/Brooklyn/Orange NJ Tilney families. I will past on your post to Jean and Ralf Bracket Tilney jnr. Thank you for joining the Mighty Oaks for the Connect-a-Thon. The 65 members who joined our teams were awesome. Our two teams added 12,905 profiles over the weekend. The Branches Team came second and the Roots Team came forth in the overall scores. Both teams were also in the top ten in the normalised scores. I hope you enjoyed it and will be joining us in April when we do it all over again.

Thank you for your recent addition of Hardaker profiles. Hardacre is my maiden name. My Hardaker ancestors lived in Lancashire. I do not find a common ancestor to my Hardaker ancestors and these, but I appreciate every added profile with the surname Hardaker, partly because it is quite uncommon.

I was impressed by your researches into the Paige family of Devon and you will have seen that I have also added a lot on wikitree even so some of the most recent Paiges you have added may be new to me. My contribution is not intended to be deinitive as I have been concentrating on our own separate independently hosted website: thepaigefamilyofdevon.site and also getting my book published: " the paiges of south devon, a family through the ages", which is available on Amazon, I think either or both will interest you. PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is important.  Ensure location data matches date in profile & avoid abbreviations. Citations & links for sources enables verification. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources

Review How To #3 and the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one to fit your research focus. Read the goals & tasks of the project,  join if it fits.

Add the project tag to your Following list to be kept up to date.
