Eva Marion Thornell (married name Van) was born in 1887 in Tyabb, Victoria, Australia, daughter of Mary Ann Maria (Hollyock) Thornell and John Henry Thornell.^{[citation needed]}

She married Aubrey Clifford Van in 1911 in Victoria.^[1] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}
