Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Tabb and Mary Johnson (who remarried Anthony Armistead)

"Issue of Charles King and Elizabeth Tabb, five children:[1]

  1. Mary King, married Colonel Francis Mallory, of Elizabeth City County. Her will was proved January 20, 1789, and mentions children, Elizabeth King Mallory, Mary King Mallory, Charles King Mallory, and Diana Wray-the last probably a stepchild.
  2. Capt. Miles King, b. 02 Nov 1747- d. 19 Jun 1814;member of the House of Delegates in 1784, 1791-3, 1798.
  3. John King, merchant of Hampton, lieutenant in State line and a naval officer of James River in 1776. He married, 1st, in 1774, Molly Starke, and later Anne _____ which last survived him and married, secondly, Seth Foster. In 1805 John King had issue surviving him, - John Starke King and Miles King;
  4. Hannah King, born April 4, 1751, married _____ Westwood;
  5. Charles, born May 17, 1753;
  6. Eliza, born September 24, 1754."

Charles King, their father, died about 1761, and his widow, Elizabeth, married James Westwood (Family Bible and chancery papers). In 1762 there were then living of the children, according to a division of Charles King's slaves: Mary King, Miles King, John King, Hannah King and Elizabeth King — all under age. (Chancery papers).

To: Meritt Westwood, son, negroes Lancashire, Bristol, Rose.

To: Elizabeth Westwood, wife, use of negroes Luke, Russell, Davy and Nell then to ______; personalty to be passed to Sarah and Ann, dau's.

Exec: Elizabeth Westwood, wife. Wit: ______ Armistead, W. King

Son Merrit's Will

Merrit Westwood, March 25, 1777. To: Elizabeth Westwood, wife and Sarah Westwood, dau., all lands equally divided. If the child my wife carries be a boy then all goes to him. If it be a girl then land divided three ways. If my children die, the 50 acres where I live to my wife with use of timber from other land and remainder of land divided between William Westwood and John Stith Westwood, sons of William Westwood. If they die without issue then to Worlick Westwood, son of Worlick Westwood. To: Wife and children, negroes divided. Exec: Elizabeth Westwood, wife; Capt. Miles King; Capt. Worlick Westwood. Wit: M. King, Francis Mallory, Samuel Jones.
