Mary was born in 1860. She was the daughter of Carl Streich and Marie Cargus. She emigrated from Germany with her parents and sister in 1861 to McNab Township near Ottawa where a lot of Prussian farming families settled. Mary grew up on the family farm of Charlie Streich. She doesn't appear to have married or had children but I haven't located her in the 1891 Census. She died in 1897 at age 37. My mother was told Mary fell from a horse and carriage and had internal injuries that caused her death. On her death record Dr. Armstrong listed the cause of death as pleural pneumonia which she had for one week. Albert Loock (Mary's brother-in-law) reported this information for the record.

My mother was told her Great Aunt Mary Streich had a terrible accident when she fell from a moving horse and carriage. She dislocated her shoulder and suffered internal injuries. The family always felt the accident contributed to her early death. Her death record states she died of pleuro pneumonia which she had for one week. She was 37.
