C was born in 1832. He was the son of Jack Smith and Margaret Butler. He passed away in 1856. He was married to Isabella Jane Hearne. He attended the University of North Carolina, receiving a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Jun 1855.[1][2]
After his father acquired land in Bosque County, he and his wife went there to begin a settlement on land his father had purchased close to the Brazos River. he was with a group that went out to hunt a bear that had been raiding the livestock. He drank water from the river and died right after that. He was the first burial in Coon Creek Cemetery.[3]
