Biography
Biagia Orlando is born 9 July 1865 in her parents' home in via San Michele Arcangelo, Corleone. Her father, Giovanni Orlando, age 25, borgese, reports her birth. Her mother is Vincenza Bartolotta, age 18.[1]
Just before her eighth birthday, Biagia's mother, Vincenza, dies 1 July 1873 in her home in via San Giuliano, Corleone, at age 27.[2]
Biagia marries a widower, Liborio Grizzaffi. They complete the publication requirements to marry on 27 April 1886[3], and wed on 3 May[4]. She is twenty years old.
Biagia and Liborio have at least three children together: Serafina (1887), Leoluca (1889), and Vincenza (1892).
Serafina is born and baptized Seraphinam on 16 May 1887. Her godparents are Vincenzo Liggio and Crocifissa Bellino. She is named after her paternal grandmother.[5]
Leoluca is born 13 September 1889 and baptized the next day. His godparents are Giuseppe di Miceli and Oliva di Palermo, a married couple.[6]
Vincenza is born 8 March 1892 and baptized four days later, named after her maternal grandmother. Her godfather is the unmarried Vincenzo Paternostro.[7]
Biagia dies at age 37 on 6 December 1902. Her husband and her father both survive her.[8]
