Serafina Grizzaffi is born and baptized Seraphinam on 16 May 1887 in Corleone. Her parents are Liborio Grizzaffi and Blasia Orlando. Her godparents are Vincenzo Liggio and Crocifissa Bellino.[1] She is named after her paternal grandmother, Serafina Palermo.
On the same ship in which "Mr. Vincent" Collura's wife and brother are sailing to join him in Ramos, LA, siblings Leoluca and Serafina Grizzaffi are going to Bryan, TX, home to a thriving Sicilian community. The Morello-Terranova family lives here for a time, until they contract malaria and return to New York, by 1903.
Leoluca is single, 19 years old, 4'11" with fair complexion and chestnut eyes and hair. He has a scar on his upper lip. Neither of the siblings is literate. Serafina is also single, 21 years old, 5'0", fair, chestnut, no scars. Their father, Liborio, is still living in Corleone.[2]
