Liborio Grizzaffi is born 13 February 1848 in his parents' home in via San Giovanni, Corleone. His birth is reported by the midwife, Francesca Paola De Luca, age 44 (b. 1803). His mother is Serafina Palermo, age 27 (b. 1820). His father is the late Liborio Grizzaffi.[1]
Liborio is baptized the next day. He is named after his father, who has died seven months before his son's birth. His godparents are Matteo Dragna and Carmela Grizzaffi, a married couple.[2][3] Carmela dies in 1853.
Liborio the younger marries twice, first to Lucia Riina, on 18 November 1877.[4]
Serafina is born 27 July 1878 and baptized two days later as Seraphinam. Her godparents are Francesco di Martino and Caterina Soldano, a married couple.[5] Serafina dies on 26 August 1879 at thirteen months of age.[6]
Lucia dies in her home at #3 via San Giuliano, Corleone, on 15 May 1885, at age 27.
Liborio marries again the following year, to Biagia Orlando. They complete the publication requirements to marry on 27 April 1886[7], and wed on 3 May.[8]
Liborio's mother, Serafina Di Palermo, dies on 16 January 1887 at age 67 (b. 1819).[9]
Liborio and Biagia have at least three children: Serafina (1887), Leoluca (1889), and Vincenza (1892).
The second daughter of Liborio named Serafina is born and baptized Seraphinam on 16 May 1887, to Liboria's second wife, Biagia Orlando. Her godparents are Vincenzo Liggio and Crocifissa Bellino.[10]
Leoluca is born 13 September 1889 and baptized the next day. His godparents are Giuseppe di Miceli and Oliva di Palermo, a married couple.[11]
Vincenza is born 8 March 1892 and baptized four days later, named after her maternal grandmother. Her godfather is the unmarried Vincenzo Paternostro.[12]
Biagia dies at age 37 (b. 1865) on 6 December 1902. Her husband and her father both survive her.[13]
In 1908, two of Liborio's children, Leoluca, 19, and Serafina, 21, both single, immigrate to Bryan, TX.[14]
