Biography

Salvatore Oliveri is born 28 June 1859 and baptized Salvatorem the next day. He is the son of Rosario Oliveri and Serafina Palermo. His godparents are Filippo di Palermo and Bernarda Sanzone, wife of Bernardo Listi.[1]

Rosario dies, reportedly at age 59 (b. 1814), on 23 September 1873.

Salvatore marries Maria Streva on 1 October 1883. His mother is living at this time.[2]

Salvatore and Maria have seven known children: Francesco Paolo (c. 1884), Rosario (c. 1886), two sons named Giuseppe (1892 and 1897), two daughters named Serafina (1890 and 1895), and Antonina (1898).

Francesco Paolo is known from the civil record of his death, at two years of age (b. 1884), on 12 October 1886.[3]

Rosario, named after his paternal grandfather, dies at two years and six months of age (b. Aug 1886) on 19 February 1889.[4]

The first son named Giuseppe, after his maternal grandfather, is born around November 1892, based on his reported age at death.

The first daughter named Serafina, after her paternal grandmother, dies at three years of age[5] on 27 December 1893.[6]

Ten days later, Giuseppe dies at a year and two months of age (b. Nov 1892) on 7 January 1894.[7]

The second daughter named Serafina is born 12 May 1895 and baptized three days later. Her godparents are Vincenzo Gennaro and Biagia Caputo, a married couple.[8]

The second son named Giuseppe is born 3 April 1897 and baptized seven days later. His godparents are Giovanni di Palermo and Bernarda Sciara, a married couple.[9]

Giuseppe dies at eight months of age, on 29 December.[10]

Antonina is born 26 November 1898 and baptized two days later, named after her maternal grandmother. Her godparents are Calogero and Antonina Grizzaffi, who are not married.[11]

A notation in the margin of Serafina's baptismal record (1895), of a cross and the date 8 October 1943, indicates this is when she dies.[8] She would be 48 years old.
