OBITUARY from the "Spirit of the Times" Batavia NY Saturday, Sept. 1st, 1888
-Mrs. Francis Burns died at her home in this village [Bergen] last Saturday aged 77 years. Her maiden name was Jane Morgan and she was born in Chestertown, Maryland, removing to Philadelphia when but seven years of age. She was there married to F. Burns, with whom she has happily lived for fifty-six years and has borne him 9 children, six of whom are living. The family have lived in Bergen since 184? and are highly respected by all. Mrs. Burns was a member of the Methodist Church, ? with them thirty-two years ? and was ? and exemplary in every respect. Truly, a good woman is more to be desired than great riches. Her funeral was attended at her late residence Wednesday morning, her pastor, T. T. ??, rendering a fitting tribute to her memory.
Jane is buried in Mount Rest Cemetery in Bergen NY.[1]
