Biography

Uriah Morgan was born on 22 July 1774 in Virginia, the ninth of sixteen children of Zackquill Morgan and the fourth of nine sons of Zacquill and his second wife, Drusilla Springer Morgan.
He was involved in Indian warfare. He appeared on the census in 1810 in Monongalia County, Virginia] , on the 1830 census in Tyler County, Virginia], and on the 1850 census in Wetzel County, Virginia (Wetzel was formed from Tyler County in 1846). His first wife had died in 1832
In 1797, when he was in his mid-twenties, he married Sarah Prickett in Monongalia County, Virginia]. She bore him seven known, four sons and three daughters, including:
  1. Josiah Morgan
  2. Zackquill Morgan
  3. Zadock Morgan
  4. David Morgan
On 16 December 1832, when he was fifty-eight, he married Mary Hill in Monongalia County, Virginia.
In 1850, when he was in his mid-seventies, he died in Tyler County, Virginia], of unknown causes.
