Biography

Zadock was born on 15 December 1804 in Monongalia County, Virginia, [1][2] the fourth of seven children and the third son of Uriah and Sarah Prickett Morgan.[3]
On 10 Dec 1825. in Monongalia County, [4] just before his twenty-first birthday, he married Rebecca Morris, [5] 18, a native of Pennsylvania, who would bear him at least eight children:
  1. Child: Lucinda Morgan.
  2. Child: David Morgan.
  3. Child: Zackquil Morgan.
  4. Child: Nancy Morgan.
  5. Child: Zadock Morgan.
  6. Child: Josiah Morgan.
  7. Child: Temperance Morgan.
  8. Child: Mary Morgan.
In the early 1840s, Zadock moved his family to Williamsburg, Clermont Count, Ohio.

1850 census

Zadac [sic.] Morgan appears in the 1850 United States Federal Census as a farmer in Clermont Couty, Ohio, with $150 of real property. His wife is reported as unable to read and only Uriah, age 13, has attended school within the last year.
