Research Notes

• I found Esther and her husband, John, along with their two daughters -- Laura and Margaret -- living in Cheney's Grove in 1870. Their last name has been transcribed as "Tonscuer," which made tracking them down rather difficult. Given the location, as well as her birth date and location, I'm pretty sure this is the correct Esther.^[1] -- Fiscus-32 18:49, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

• There is a death record for a Laura Schell (spouse's name: Grant Schell) who died in Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois in 1920. Her parents' names are listed as John Tousley and Esther Morgan. Laura's residence is listed as Saybrook, Illinois, which is the same town that her mother and grandparents lived in.^[2]

• Esther is widowed at the time of the 1900 Census, and she continues to live in Cheney's Grove. There is a slight chance that this is not the correct Esther, as she gives her father's birthplace as Scotland. She does state that her mother was born in Tennessee, which matches with the information I've found.^[3] -- Fiscus-32 19:02, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

• In 1910, Esther is still living in Cheney's Grove, and her granddaughter Zola "Shell" (s/b Schell) is living with her.^[4]
