Mary and two of her children -- Ellen and George -- are living in Mary's parents at the time of the 1880 census. Her marital status is given as "married," but her husband is not in the household.[1]
In 1900, Mary is shown as a widow living with her son, George, in Cheney's Grove Township, McLean County, Illinois.[2] This census entry was identified because of the location and the presence of her son, George, in the listing. His name and birth date match what was found in the 1880 Census.
There is an entry for her on the Nickerson Association website that gives her date of death as 2 Aug 1906, but it does not cite a source.[3]
