Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1882. She is the daughter of William King and Hellen Adkins. Pa's sister Jean recount story from her mother saying Elizabeth was taken through the night and adopted to a Fletcher family, their mother being due to be born and Ellen/Helen knew she may not survive, other siblings went to her parents (Adkins) to be raised in Tasmania nearby Hobart area. The Siblings had kept in contact throughout their lives.

Elizabeth lived in Bankstown NSW, was married to a Bootmaker, Gov Iram John Rainford, both aged 21 at time of their Marriage in 1902 at Hobart, Tasmania.

Four children at least- Jack, Iris, Reginald & Frank

Story from Jean Morton, :- Esther's sister Elizabeth had a pretty face & lovely curly hair, because of this was chosen for adoption, taken from their double bed, where all the children slept, late at night. Elizabeth had been adopted by the Fletcher family as her mother was concerned for the well being of the children and had been told se may not survive the birh of her soon to be born baby., the Grandparents took care of the children on account of extreme poverty. When Granny went to claim the child back after Ellen's death the new family denied that Elizabeth was with them, on hearing her Granny's voice a little child with very short hair appeared and they said she was a boy named Tommy.The family kept Elizabeth and Esther kept in touch.
