Mary Ella King (married names O'Brien then Bourke) was born on 24 June 1879 at Green Ponds, Tasmania, Australia, daughter of Hellen (Adkins) King and William King.^[1]

She married Denis O'Brien in 1898 in Victoria.^[2] Their daughter was:
