A Harriet Ludlow (or Ludlam) does not appear in any other reference. Early History of Southampton Second Edition, George Rogers Howell, page 339, shows Frances Ludlow (written Ludlam until about 1776) as the daughter of William, whose will refers to son-in-law Samuel King among others (https://archive.org/details/earlyhistoryofso00howe_1/page/n679).

Found this and thought it might help this profile. There is a reference to this Samuel King in this document (page 14 - with all the same children), but it says Samuel's wife was Harriet Ludlow. http://www.djs.org/HenryBlackburnEaton.pdf

Samuel King did not live or die in Long Island City. As a place name, it didn't even exist in the 18th century. He lived, in fact, at the opposite end of Long Island, some 80 miles east, in the town of Southold. I think some family tree program prompted Long Island City when someone entered "Long Island" in their tree. (That entry did not come from my GedCom. I don't know whose it came from).

Is Samuel King considered a Gateway ancestor since he seems to be directly related to the Plantagenet line? (Samuel King < William KIng < William King < John King < John King < John KIng < Ralph King < William King < Margaret Ferrers < William Ferrers < Henry Ferrers < William Ferrers < Isabel Verdun < Elizabeth Clare < Joan Plantagenet < King Edward I Plantagenet....was thinking that this may mean that Samuel should be reviewed as a Gateway Ancestor. Thoughts? Thanks so much! Cheryl
