Biography

Alice Frances Jones was the eldest child of David E Jones (1830–1902) and Susana Brookhouser (1836–1924), born on 9 Oct 1857 in Crawford County, Pennsylvania. Her family lived at French Creek, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, in 1860 and they moved to Saint John Township, Harrison County, Iowa, in about 1870.^[1][2]

Alice married John Riley McCullough on 4 Nov 1877 in Saint Johns Township, Harrison County, Iowa. He farmed in Saint Johns Township, near the city of Missouri Valley, and they raised their children there.^{[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]}

John R. McCullough and Alice F. Jones had the following children:

John died on 13 May 1918 and was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Missouri Valley, Harrison County, Iowa. Alice stayed in her Missouri Valley home with her youngest son, David Ernest, and died at home in her bed from heart failure on 25 Apr 1921. She was buried next to her husband in Oak Grove Cemetery in Harrison County, Iowa.^{[11][12][13][14]}
