Biography

Ruth Householder was born on 10 Apr 1803 in Virginia, the daughter of Adam Householder and Sarah Janney. [1]

She married John Hutton on 4 Apr 1848 in Clark County, Ohio. [2] When the census was taken on 20 Sep 1850 they were living in South Charleston, Clark, Ohio. John worked as a Carpenter. [3] He died about 1850.

She married Samuel D Haney (1810–1879) on 5 Apr 1855 in Mcdonough County, Illinois. [4] He was the widower of Ruth's sister Sarah. They both appear separately in the 1860 and 1870 censuses, so it is not clear how long they lived together.

In 1860 Ruth was living in South Charleston, Clark, Ohio with 20 year old medical student Charlie Grahn. Her occupation was listed as Farmers Widow. [5]

In 1870 she was living alone in South Charleston, Clark, Ohio. [6]

She died on 26 Sep 1878 in Charleston, Clark, Ohio. [7]
