Charles W. Heisler was born on May 16, 1856, and died on May 16, 1909. He was the son of Washington Heisler and Sarah Kurtz.
He attended Pennsylvania College (now Gettysburg College), receiving his undergraduate degree in 1880 and his theology degree in 1883. After initially serving as the pastor at Belleville Pennsylvania, he was the pastor of the First English Lutheran Church in Los Angeles from 1886 to 1892, the pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Denver, Colorado from 1892 to 1898, and the First Lutheran Church of Albany, New York from 1901 to 1909. He was President of Susquehanna University from 1899 to 1901.
He was award a master's degree from Pennsylvania College (now Gettysburg College) in 1893 and a doctor of divinity from Wittenberg College in 1901.
He wrote several religious books.
