DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jacques by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jacques:

I think maybe this Jacques is the son of Jacques Chauvin-196... his bio lists a son born 1698. A son born 1698 could have a son born 1714 (a bit young, but certainly possible). What info is given at your source includes "One of the four brothers who came to Mobile with Bienville". The migration to Louisiana in my line occurred in the generation after Pierre's kids (my line goes through Pierre's son Gilles, but he immigrated to Detroit). Take a look at some of the sources on Gilles' page - the census for 1681 says Pierre's son Jacques was 10, which argues 1671 (not 1660 or 1665) for Jacques' birth year.
