Ciro Cascio is born and baptized 4 October 1815, named after his paternal grandfather. He is the son of Leoluca Cascio and according to his baptismal record, Maria Crapa, but actually, Maria Puccio. The record of his death makes the same error. His godparents are Carmelo and Innocenza d'Anna, son and mother.
Maria dies by 1838, when Leoluca remarries.
Ciro marries Lucia Cusimano on 17 January 1841. [1]Leoluca is still living at this time.
Ciro and Lucia have at least nine children together: three daughters named Maria (1842, 1852, and 1857), twins Leoluca and Liborio (1844), Emmanuela (1846), a second son named Leoluca (1849), Giovanni Liborio (1855), and Francesca Paola (1860).
The first daughter named Maria is born and baptized on 14 May 1842, named after her paternal grandmother, as is traditional for the first born girl. Her godparents are Onofrio di Benedetto and Rosa, his unmarried sister.
Twin boys, Leoluca and Liborio, are born and baptized 16 August 1844. Leoluca is named after his paternal grandfather. His godparents are Pasquale Salemi and Carmela Terrusa, a married couple. Liborio's godparents are Michaele Virgadamo and Maria Concetta, his sister. Liborio dies on 28 July 1845 at eleven months of age. Leoluca dies on 14 August, two days before his first birthday..
Emmanuela is born 25 December 1846 in her parent's home on via S. Elena, in Corleone. Her civil birth record, included in the 1867 marriage allegati, record her parents as Lucia Cusimano, age 29, and Ciro Cascio, her husband, age 29 (b. 1817), agricola (farmer).
The second son named Leoluca is born 18 November 1849. Ciro, age 28, agricola, living in via Sant'Elena, reports the birth of his son to his wife, Lucia Cusimano, age 28, in their home on 18 November 1849.[2] He is baptized on 19 November as Leoluca Castro. His godparents are Pietro lo Curto and Liboria Triolo, a married couple.
Maria dies at age eight (b. 1842) on 24 August 1850.
The second daughter named Maria is born 6 March 1852 and baptized the next day. Her godparents are Vincenzo Bentivegna and Bernarda Labruzzo, a married couple.
Maria dies on 22 February 1855, just before her third birthday.
Giovanni Liborio is born and baptized 17 July 1855. His godparents are Vincentius Triolo and Salvatrix Birrittello.
Giovanni dies on 22 July 1855 at five days of age.
The third daughter named Maria is born 9 April 1857 and baptized Mariam on 11 April. She is the goddaughter of Franciscus di Liberto and Francisca Paula Gagliano.
Francesca Paola is born and baptized Franciscam Paulam on 19 June 1860. Her godparents are Franciscus di Benedetto and Cajetana Miceli.
Emmanuela marries Giuseppe Verdina on 10 January 1867. They have at least two children.
The surviving Maria (b. 1857) marries Calogero Bracco on 28 October 1877.
The surviving Leoluca (b. 1849) marries Vincenza Tufanio on 7 November 1881.
Francesca Paola marries Carmelo D'Anna on 27 September 1884.
Ciro dies at age 71 on 29 December 1886. His wife, Lucia, survives him. The record of Ciro's death also calls his mother Maria Crapa.
Lucia dies at 78 years of age (b. 1815) on 31 October 1893.
