Biography

Maria Cascio is born and baptized on 14 May 1842, named after her paternal grandmother, as is traditional for the first born girl. She is the daughter of Ciro Cascio and Lucia Cusimano. Her godparents are Onofrio di Benedetto and Rosa, his unmarried sister.

Maria dies at age eight (b. 1842) on 24 August 1850. She has at least two sisters with the same name, the first born in 1852.
