Francisca Paula Castro is born and baptized Franciscam Paulam on 19 June 1860 in Corleone. She is the daughter of Ciro Cascio (Castro in this record) and Lucia Cusimano. Her godparents are Francesco di Benedetto and Gaetana di Miceli.[1][2]
Francesca marries Carmelo D'Anna on 27 September 1884 in Corleone. Their parents are all living at this time.[3][4]
Francesca and Carmelo have six children, five of them living in 1910. THose known are Salvatore/Sam (1889), Joe (c. 1891), Charles (c. 1893), and Luke (c. 1896).
Salvatore is born 25 March 1889 and baptized the next day, named after his paternal grandfather. His godfather is the unmarried Calogero Collura.[5]
Frances' brother, Leoluca, immigrates to the United States in 1884 and relocates to Bryan, Texas, by 1895. According to the 1910 census, Frances and her husband and oldest child immigrate in 1890.
In the 1910 federal census of Harris County, Texas, taken 16 April, C. Danna heads a household at 1719 San Filipe. He is 53 years old, born in Italy, married for 27 years to Francis, age 50. She has had six children, five living. At home are Sam, 21, born in italy, Joe, 18, Charles, 16, and Luke, 13, all born in Texas. C., Francis, and Sam immigrated in 1890. C. is naturalized. He is not employed. Sam works as a street car conductor. Joe is a baker at Nat. Biaga? Co? Charles is a bricklayer, and Luke is a mess boy.[6]
A note on his baptismal record indicates that Salvatore marries in the Chiesa del SS Cuore di Gesu in Houston, TX on 30 October 1912 to Rosalia di Giorgio, daughter of Bernardo.[5]
Carmelo dies on 29 November 1926 at age 69 (b. 1857) from a cerebral hemorrhage. His birthdate is not known; birthplace, Italy. Informant is his wife, Mrs. C. Danna, of the same home address. He is buried in Holy Cross/Westheimer Co. Houston.[7]
Mrs. Frances Danna dies in Houston, Harris County, Texas on 22 February 1930 from cerebral apoplexy. She was born 19 June 1860 in Italy, died at age 69, a widow. Her father’s name was Ciro Cash. The informant is Mrs. Joe Banno of 1719 W. Dallas, the same address as the decedent. She’s buried in Holly Cross Cemetery by Westheimer Co. in Houston, TX on 22 February.[8]
Frances Cash Danna is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery. The dates of her life are inscribed in her grave marker: 19 June 1860 to 20 February 1930.[9]
