Biography

Stefano Cascio is born 28 January 1858 in Corleone and baptized the next day as Stephanum. He is the son of Marco Cascio and Tommasa Cusimano. His godparents are Vincenzo Labruzzo and Rosa Cusimano.

Stefano is a landowner (Possidente) and a bachelor (Celibe) according to the civil record of his death.

Stefano is shot and killed at age 35, on 18 June 1893, at the Agricultural Society casino, near the Piazza Inferiore, number 189. (Google Maps does not recognize this address. Cascio-10 16:21, 27 February 2015 (EST)) "Ostensibly where like-minded farm managers could meet and discuss business," the Casino is later a known Mafia hangout. The shooter was Antonio Di Miceli, 33, a farmer, who went on a mad shooting spree in the middle of a crowd gathered to celebrate the honorable deputato Paternostro. Several other men were wounded in the shooting. Di Miceli, who had been in prison for domestic abuse to this wife three months prior to the shooting and involved in a violent altercation with a Coniglio, was immediately arrested after the incident.[1]

The civil record gives the location and time of Stefano's death (Casino della Societa Agricola sito nella Piazza Inferiore al Numero centottantanove) in Corleone, at 7:30 PM. [2] The Church record says that Stefano is killed.
