Biography

Salvatore Cascio's birth on 10 November 1856 is recorded by the midwife, Francesca Paola De Luca, age 52, who delivers Biagia Streva, age 41, living in via Candelo in Corleone, of Salvatore. Salvatore's father is Marco Cascio, Biagia's husband, who is 33, borgese (middle class). Salvatore is baptized Salvator on 11 November. His godparents are Franciscus Cascio and Calogera Marino.

Salvatore's mother dies less than two weeks after his birth. His father remarries soon after.

At age 25, Salvatore, a "Possidente"---landowner---marries Flaminia Salvatrice Tosco, age 18, "Civile" - from the landowner class. She was born in Palermo, and she and her parents are residents of Corleone when Flaminia and Salvatore marry in the civil office on 14 January 1882 and in church on 1 February.

Salvatore and Flaminia Salvatrice have at least two children together, Marco (1883) and Tommasa Blasia Rosa (1885).

Marco is born 17 January 1883 and baptized Marcus on 20 January. His godparents are Marianus Cascio and Joanna Compagno.

A margin note on this baptismal record says that Marco marries in the Metropolitan parish of Palermo on 29 April 1922 with Caterina Morello, daughter of Rosario Morello and Carmela Catinella.

Tommasa Biagia Rosa is born 24 March 1885 and baptized 28 March. Her godparents are Joseph Catinella and Joachina Pascinato.

In the record of her death, , at four years and four months of age, on 8 August 1889, Tommasa Biagia Rosa is called Teresa Biagia Rosa.
